ardessie.com is named after the river that gives its name to the village Ardessie in Wester Ross where Colin Meek lives and works.

ardessie.com will gradually grow to give regular clients shared but secure access to material being used by Colin for reports and other projects.

When Colin is not in London working, he lives in Wester Ross in Scotland near Ullapool with his wife Helen and two children. He is a member of Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team, a qualified mountain guide and never stops trying to find time to write about climbing.

Colin draws on more than17 years experience to tackle projects tenaciously and accurately with an eye for anecdote and exclusive material. Colin has written dozens of in-depth, investigative stories for several publications.

Journalism
In 2003 he was awarded a Special Commendation at the national 2003 Norwich Union Medical Journalism Awards for feature writing. Recently his work has ranged from an investigation into malpractice in the laser surgery industry to ground-breaking research on pre-hospital care and transfats. Colin also works as a research consultant for several organisations and has been commissioned to write a series of policy reports using a variety of methodologies. See the pages on research for more.

Training
Since 2005 Colin has developed training courses in online research and investigative desk research and delivered those to journalists, campaign staff and policy analysts in in-house and scheduled open courses.
